Accessing Voice Typing Settings
- Press the Windows key + H to open the Voice Typing toolbar.
- Click the gear icon to open settings
Available Settings
Voice Typing Launcher
Allows a small microphone button to appear automatically whenever you click into a text field. This can be turned on or off in the Voice Typing settings.
Automatic Punctuation
Windows can insert punctuation automatically based on how you speak. This can be toggled on or off.
Profanity Filter
Choose whether Windows filters ou or includes profanity during dictation.
Language Settings
Install Additional Languages
Go to Settings ---> Time & Language ---> Language & Region
Add a language and install optional speech recognition features if available.
Switch Input Languages
Use the language switcher on the taskbar to change typing languages.
Troubleshooting
- Launcher not appearing: Make sure the Voice Typing launcher toggle is enabled.
- Automatic punctuation not working: Confirm the setting is turned on and speak in complete sentences.
- Language not available: Some languages require downloading optional speech components under Languages & Region.
