M State has computer requirements for specific programs. Find your program and review the supplied information. If you do not see your program listed, then a laptop is not required to complete that program. The college does not promote or recommend a particular brand or model of computer.
General computer requirements are:
Processor: Intel Core i5 processor or higher
Hard drive: 256 GB Solid State Drive (SSD) or larger
RAM: 8 GB required (16 GB suggested)
Operating system: Windows 10/11 recommended
If you would prefer a Mac, please double check with a faculty member in your program that it will work (Mac is required for graphic design)(Mac is not compatible with some courses)
Microsoft® Office 365 suite products for Windows and Mac are available to download or use in the cloud, free of charge, for all current M State students. The free download for a Windows-based PC includes Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Publisher and Access. The Mac version includes only Word, Excel and Powerpoint.
